Ingredients

Directions

Step 1

Add the water and salt to a pot. When the water comes to a boil, add the polenta. Cook for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent lumps from forming.

Step 2

Allow the polenta to cool.

Step 3

Add the egg, grated Edam cheese and olive oil to the cooled polenta. Mix until well combined.

Step 4

Lightly oil your hands to make shaping the polenta easier.

Step 5

Divide the polenta into 12 equal portions. Shape each portion into a round about 10 cm (4 inches) in diameter.

Step 6

Place one slice of turkey ham and one slice of mozzarella on six of the polenta rounds. Cover each with one of the remaining polenta rounds. Press the edges together to seal.

Step 7

Heat a grill pan over medium heat.

Step 8

Grill the polenta with ham and mozzarella for about 5 minutes on each side, or until golden and lightly crispy. Serve warm.
